March 2010
So, i haven’t written in a while and since then i’ve gotten closer to new friends and said goodbye to others, it seems that with each new semester everything changes and new conflicts and feelings arise.
In a perfect world lies wouldn’t exist and ignorance would be something from the past. In recent years i’ve realized that even though we say we don’t judge people by their cover it’s something we unconsciously do, because of this we might not meet the people that may be the ones to change our lives. I can tell you from experience that my best friend and I didn’t quite get along in the beginning, we were and are complete opposites and butted heads all the time, we still do but after a while it’s amazing what getting to know a person can reveal. When you see someone for the first time you usually get a sense or vibe of how that person is, in the way they carry themselves and talk to others around them. If i was going to be judged from how i acted talking to my friends and how i carried myself i’d be a completely different person than what i am.
I may be funny and love making people laugh, i may love my friends to death and care about some people more than i should but that’s the way i am. I’m a very giving person but i hate being judged from first impressions, you never know what the person was going through at that moment that might’ve made the person out to be horrible. Get to know a person before judging, it’ll take you far and save you a lot of what ifs? For example, i’m pretty sure people know me as a loud person that is always smiling and loves helping people; i am more than that and so is everyone else. We all go through daily roller coasters in our lives but those are the rides that turn us into the people that we are and those that we’ll evolve into. Some people are partiers, some are in the music scene, some are into fashion and hype, others are sports freaks, some love the drama, others live for their studies and some take a little bit from everything. In reality no matter how different we may all be we all strive for the very same thing, the pursuit of happiness (sounds cheesy and i know it’s in the constitution but it;s true). Ask anyone why they do what they do, you don’t have to agree with them but i’ll bet you their answer will be that it’s because they like doing it and find it fulfilling… hopefully they’re not doing it because they feel forced to do things by peer pressure.
I guess what i’m saying is that as a new semester begins be open to meeting new people and forming new bonds, you never know who’ll step into your life and actually change it, beware of backstabbers and liars because as much as i hate to say it they do exist but if we dig deep we can always find a diamond in the rough. Everyone deserves a chance, some maybe even two or three as long as you believe in what you’re standing for and why you’re doing it.
If you’re my friend i want to tell you thank you for accepting me and that appreciate everything you do for me. Lots of love to you all.
XOXO
